Information Governance Maturity Assessment

ARMA GARP® Principles (2017)  +  IGIM 2.1 Implementation Areas
GARP® IGIM 2.1
Session 16: Bridging Influence Gaps by Creating an Information Governance Program 2026 NAGARA Conference, Philadelphia, PA  ·  Presented by Megan M. Sokolow, MLIS, CRM, CIP

Before you begin

This assessment has two parts. Part 1 walks through ARMA's eight Generally Accepted Recordkeeping Principles® (GARP®) — Accountability, Transparency, Integrity, Protection, Compliance, Availability, Retention, and Disposition. Part 2 walks through the eight implementation areas of ARMA's Information Governance Implementation Model (IGIM 2.1) — Steering Committee, Authorities, Supports, Procedural Framework, Capabilities, Information Lifecycle, Architecture, and Infrastructure. For each of the 16 items you'll pick the maturity level (1–5) that best fits your organization today. The IGIM section also shows how your answers stack up against ARMA's IG Maturity Index survey benchmark.

Takes about 15 minutes for both parts. Nothing is sent anywhere until you choose to export or email your results — your answers stay in this browser tab. Benchmark figures shown in Part 2 are from ARMA's most recently published Information Governance Maturity Index Report; see the note in your results for the exact survey year.
